A very rare and attractive Gar Wood model built during the "Trophy Fleet" era between 1937 and 1941. "Aunt Lu" is a 16'6 Model 2 "Deluxe Runabout" and is 1 of only 11 built in 1941. 1941 was a notable year for Gar Wood with some of its best sales and the design changes increased length of each production model by 6". Very similar to the "Custom" model but in a smaller package. Original power came from a 6 cylinder 85HP Chrysler Ace. She has been repowered with a 185HP Chevrolet (Chris Craft conversion) 283cid V8 engine. West System no-soak bottom installed by the late Tony Brown of Western Runabouts. Fresh interior upholstery and finishes throughout. Originally delivered to San Francisco in 1941, she has spent most of her life around Lake Tahoe. Sold complete with a custom fitted single axle trailer along with all records and receipts.
