Overview
Own a rare piece of boating history with this meticulously restored 1965 Arkansas Traveler Polaris II, a 14’ 1” fiberglass classic designed to emulate the elegant look of a wooden boat. Over the summer of 2025, I personally and professionally restored the entire boat from the ground up, stripping and repainting, cleaning all furnishings, re-carpeting, and restoring the engine. She's powered by a fully serviced 1965 Johnson Super Sea Horse 75 HP 2-Stroke outboard motor with a rebuilt electronic shifting unit, this boat blends mid-century style with modern reliability. Perfect for cruising lakes or showcasing at vintage boat shows, it’s a turn-key gem for collectors and boating enthusiasts.

Restoration Details
This Polaris II has been stripped to bare primed fiberglass and restored to a beautiful condition, preserving its unique wood-like aesthetic:
Hull: Stripped of original chipped brown/maroon paint to bare fiberglass, treated with TotalProtect marine primer system, and coated with Rust-Oleum topside paint (white hull, navy blue topside) to enhance its wood-mimicking design. All fixtures and chrome trim removed during painting, polished with steel wool, and refurbished for a clean finish.
Interior: New marine plywood floor with treated lumber pedestal system, covered in durable marine outdoor carpet. Side walls lined with matching marine carpet to complement the wood-like exterior. Two new marine leather folding captain’s chairs installed on new seat pedestals up front. Custom-built rear bench, crafted from Lowe’s-sourced lumber with 2-inch upholstery foam, seats 2-3 adults and includes four matching white outdoor pillows.
Electrical/wiring: Fully inspected and upgraded. Corroded connections re-run, new ignition key switch, light plunger switch, and fuel gauge. Original AirGuide tachometer (intact, not functioning) and speedometer (functions properly) re-installed. Polished and functional speedometer (30 MPH top speed tested on water). NAV light and spotlight polished, reinstalled, and tested operational.
Audio: Brand-new Pyle Hydra audio system with two speakers integrated into the rear bench for onboard entertainment.
