Established in 1890, the Ross Boat Shop was owned by J.H. Ross who was one of the first boat builders on Orillia, Ontario's waterfront. Ross began making canoes, skiff, and sailboats in a small shop, which soon expanded to a large workshop with several employees, meeting the demand of his expanding line of offerings. This 1958 Champlain model is a 15' Outboard, built and outfitted very similar to Peterborough, Lakefield, and other cedar strip outboards of the era. She was a very nice original example when found by her current owners. A few years ago, 7 ribs and the lower section of transom were replaced. The original electric start 35HP Evinrude Big Twin outboard has been recently serviced and comes with 1 new battery, one battery that is 4 years old, and a pair of OMC Cruise-a-Day fuel tanks. Very nice condition overall and ready to enjoy. Sold complete with a custom fitted Cradle Ride Trailer, vintage Buoy Boy cushions, a custom cover, fenders, and lines.
Purchased new for the boat in 2002. Cradle Ride Model B-800.
