KATIE'S CHOICE is an exceptional example of Gar Wood's celebrated 28-foot Triple Cockpit Runabout, representing the elegance and performance of the golden age of boating. Built in 1930 at Gar Wood's Marysville, Michigan facility, she was commissioned for Logan T. Wood, Gar Wood's younger brother and president of Gar Wood Industries, making her one of the few Gar Woods with direct family provenance. One of only 52 Model 28-40 Open Runabouts produced that year, KATIE'S CHOICE was ordered with numerous factory special-order features and remains powered by her original 200 HP Scripps Model 202 six-cylinder engine. Following ownership by several distinguished collectors, she underwent a concours-quality restoration by Lance Wilson of Runabout Restorations and is accompanied by extensive documentation from the Gar Wood Society. Beautifully restored and remarkably original, KATIE'S CHOICE stands as one of the most historically significant and desirable Gar Wood runabouts in existence.
